Marlow Art Colony

History

Marlow Art Colony was formed in 2001 to foster creativity and encourage active expression of individual talent. Most of the members have been to the Cornish Art Colony started by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1885. We talked about his idea of an art colony and have used that as a bases for what we are doing. It started with Susan Rock, Gerry Plotts, JoAnn Hartwell, and Mary Blank, meeting in Susan's woods. (Bob Rock's property right there on the pond, the yellow cottage which can be seen from the store). Just painting under the trees in her front yard. We just gather together, whom ever, to work together sharing information, critiques, etc.
